My name is Dr. Sara Dunnigan (she/her) and I am a licensed psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I earned my doctoral degree from Alliant University in the California School of Professional Psychology. With over a decade of experience in the field of therapy, I specialize in working with women and families in all stages of life. My specialties range from working with infertility concerns, pregnant and postpartum people navigating the adjustment and changes that this brings to their lives all the way up to working with high-risk, behaviorally challenged children and teens. In addition, I have a passion for working with women needing emotional support navigating the social and cultural dimensions of a woman’s life.

I use a variety of evidence-based approaches including problem-solving therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). My goal as a therapist lies in helping women and families navigate the complexities of life’s difficulties and how to be a guiding support to my clients so they feel less alone as they ride the waves of what can often be a very challenging journey.

At this time, I am only offering therapy virtually based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, but I am licensed to see anyone who is living in the state of California.

In my free time, I enjoy theater and dance, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with my family and children.
